Leaders Helping Leaders

I’m Danny Langloss, and like you, I’ve spent the past 20 years on the front lines leading in the trenches. Throughout this time, I’ve learned that leadership is not for the faint of heart. It’s complex and challenging.

As a detective sergeant, I had to keep my team motivated and empowered despite the burnout caused by long hours and traumatic incidents. We created a resilient team that consistently outperformed their peers and were energized to serve victims and their families.

When I was promoted to police chief, I inherited a toxic and divided culture. Through vision, listening, clear expectations, and strong leadership, we created an inclusive culture and became one of the most desired places to work in the region.

Later, as the City Manager, I joined a fractured and siloed team that lacked purpose, connection, and direction. Within months, we created a team united through purpose, fully committed to delivering their best for our community. Today, this team is guided by the values of “Commitment to Excellence” and “Here to Serve.”

Leaders Don't Have to Do It Alone

Today’s leaders face unprecedented challenges in an unstable and uncertain business environment. The expectations of the workforce have changed, and to further complicate the situation, we have the most diverse workforce in the history of our country, spanning across 5 generations. People have more options than ever through remote and hybrid work and expectations from their work experience have significantly increased.

The war for top talent has never be more competitive. Recruitment and retention have never been more challenging. Many companies think the answer is better pay and benefits with more flexible work hours. While this band aid creates short-term success, the long-term solution is creating a work experience that fuels purpose, connection, and ownership.

If you are looking for a partner to help navigate these challenges, I am here to help.

MEET DANNY

Ever since Danny was 8 years old, he felt a calling to become a police officer. As his career progressed, Danny realized this was really a calling to leadership. He always felt drawn to help others. Danny’s goal was to be in the position that would allow him to make the biggest difference.  He quickly rose through the ranks of the department, serving as a patrol officer, detective, hostage negotiator, SWAT officer, patrol sergeant, and detective sergeant before being named the youngest police chief in the history of the Dixon police department at age 33. At 43, he was promoted to serve as Dixon's City Manager.
